I made a blog!
As you can see, I made a blog!
How?
I used Hugo, a static site generator written in Go. In short, what this means is - all I have to do is write my posts in text files, and Hugo handles building the actual pages!
The main hook for me was the really low overhead to get a post out there - the less friction there is around making a post, the more likely it is to actually happen.
It’s hosted on GitHub Pages, which I’d happily recommend to any developer working on putting a simple site together.
Why?
Don’t worry, I’m not trying to make it big as a blogger or anything - I’m just excited to have a platform now, for those times when I have something to share. I’m not trying to write for the whole world, just the handful of people who might appreciate a given post.
Topics might include life updates, technical writeups, or sharing about recent dance and art projects I’ve been working on.
